Galicia Tourism will distribute a total of 500,000 euros for the digitalisation, improvement of facilities and increase of energy efficiency of the beneficiary establishments.
This Monday, 8 August, is the deadline to apply for the aid announced by the Xunta de Galicia through Galicia Tourism to undertake investments to modernise, digitise and improve the energy efficiency of private tourist hostels. The call is endowed with a total budget of 500,000 euros and each beneficiary may receive a grant of 80% of the planned investment up to a maximum of 6,000 euros.
Among the expenses that may be covered by this aid programme are the installation of home automation and energy efficiency systems, such as heat recovery systems, free cooling systems, solar panels for self-consumption, charging points for electric vehicles, renovation of equipment for others with lower consumption, as well as improvements in thermal and sound insulation, renovation of signs, and acquisition and implementation of on-site control systems, electronic signage and notifications via mobile phones.
Micro-enterprises and SMEs are the recipients of this call, which excludes publicly owned pilgrim hostels, establishments that are part of the network of youth hostels and those businesses dedicated to accommodation in collective rooms for school, educational or social reasons. In addition, applicants must be registered in the Register of Tourism Businesses and Activities of the Xunta.
