A Coruña, epicentre of gastronomy with the celebration of the Forum Gastronomic

The Gastronomic Forum A Coruña has closed its third edition surpassing the number of visitors with more than 24,000 people who throughout the three days have passed through the facilities of ExpoCoruña, confirming once again the consolidation of the event in Galicia and A Coruña.

150 speakers have carried out nearly 90 activities distributed between the Auditorium, the workshop, the Ágora, the Wine Circus and the Aula de Cultura Cervecera in addition to the activities carried out in the spaces of the exhibitors such as those of Estrella Galicia, the Consellería do Medio Rural, Economía social de Galicia representing the agricultural cooperatives, Cafés Candelas, Deputación de Pontevedra, Deputación de A Coruña, Gourmet El Corte Inglés or Siboney, among others.

Likewise, speakers and prescribers have expressed the success of this year’s thematic axis, the kitchens of the Atlantic, which has allowed to know the culinary tendencies of the diverse territories of the Atlantic, as for example the invited territory, the Canary Islands, which has brought to the Forum a representation of cooks and products of each one of its islands.

On the other hand, it is important to point out the high degree of satisfaction of the exhibitors, who have established numerous commercial contacts in a fair area that has grown by 20% with respect to the previous edition. It should also be noted that 250 companies took part, thus demonstrating that Forum is a reference event and a great business platform for companies in the sector in which large brands coexist in perfect harmony with small producers.

In addition, this year has opted for sectors such as machinery, which has further boosted the visit of a professional audience, as well as coffee or beer. It is also worth highlighting the leading role played by the wine sector, with more than 200 references represented at the fair and with numerous activities that have attracted sommeliers, oenologists and specialists.

The organisation of the Gastronomic Forum wishes to underline the support of the professional sector that has accompanied it since the first edition and makes this great event possible.

Canary Islands, Guest Territory
This edition has a notable representation of Canarian cuisine as the fortunate islands was invited territory which allows us to approach their proposals with sessions with Cristo Hernández (Gyotaku) from Tenerife; Arabisén Quintero (Casa Juan) from El Hierro; Juan Carlos Curpa (El Jardín de la Sal) from La Palma; and Germán Blanco (La Cascada del Puerto) from Lanzarote. In addition to a workshop with Borja Marrero (Texeda) from Gran Canaria.

One of the novelties of this edition was the Dialogues, a space where to confront ideas The Craft Beer Forum has also been set up, a space within the Forum in which craft beer brewers have stands to promote their products. Wine also has its own space in the Gastronomic Forum A Coruña 2019 with the Wine Circus-Forum Vino and in the same space was included the Wine Market and the Aula Wine Circus-Forum Vino. Finally, it also repeated the Sweet Forum and the Ágora space, in which initiatives linked to the territory are developed, with special attention to actions aimed at propagating sustainable cooking models linked to local producers.
