The Xunta de Galicia has opened the call for proposals for the Xacobeo 2027 Sponsorship Master Plan, a key tool for integrating projects into the official program of this international event. The initiative allows for the submission of proposals related to both preparatory activities planned for 2026 and events taking place throughout 2027 that, due to their continuity, may extend their impact into 2028.
The call is designed as an open procedure that facilitates the evaluation of projects eligible for sponsorship, ensuring advance planning, greater legal certainty, and a coherent organization of the Xacobeo program. Sponsorships will be formalized through private advertising sponsorship agreements, in accordance with current regulations.
The Master Plan is aimed at economic operators with proven experience in organizing and producing high-impact events. These operators can submit projects of a musical, artistic, exhibition, educational, sporting, or heritage-related nature, as well as those linked to tourism, innovation, science, or creativity. These are unique initiatives with their own distinct identity and the capacity to generate social, cultural, tourism, and economic returns for Galicia.
Proposals must align with the areas of action defined in the Master Plan. However, other initiatives that, while not strictly falling into these categories, are consistent with the values, objectives, and identity of Xacobeo 2027 will also be considered. Furthermore, projects with prior private sponsorships that are deemed to be of special strategic interest may be submitted during the open application period from 2026 to 2028.
The submission period will be three months, starting the day after the publication of the call for proposals in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG). Initiatives considered to be of special strategic interest to Galicia may be submitted throughout the 2026-2028 period. Submissions may be made via the generic electronic application form on the Xunta’s electronic portal, procedure code PR004A.
