El Camino del Litoral will connect the entire Galician coast in a great sustainable route

  • The new itinerary totals 1,300 kilometers and 52 stages

Galicia will have a new long-distance tourist proposal: the Camino del Litoral, a continuous route of 1,300 kilometers divided into 52 stages that will allow you to travel the entire Galician coast on foot or by bicycle, highlighting the natural, cultural and landscape heritage of the coast.

The initiative, presented at FITUR, is promoted by the Xunta de Galicia and was born with the aim of structuring the coastal territory through a model of sustainable tourism, accessible and respectful of the environment. The project envisages an investment of close to €2 million, intended for the improvement of the layout and the implementation of uniform signage that identifies the route.

  • The project is committed to a sustainable tourism model that connects heritage, landscape and local economy

El Camino del Litoral will cross some of the most emblematic areas of the coast, from A Mariña lucense and the Rías Altas to the Rías Baixas and the south of Galicia, passing through enclaves such as Golfo Ártabro, Bergantiños or the Costa da Morte. In addition to connecting landscapes of great value, the route will facilitate access to tourist resources, services and local products, contributing to the economic development of coastal municipalities.

As a complement, in the summer of 2026 the launch of the APP Conecta Litoral is planned, a digital tool that will gather detailed information about each stage, the cultural and natural heritage of the environment and the tourist offer available along the route.

The project is part of the strategy of planning and integrated management of the coast and is presented as an anteroom of Xacobeo 2027, reinforcing the positioning of Galicia as a destination that combines nature, culture and sustainability in a unique tourist experience.
