Last week, Galician gastronomy shone once again in the latest edition of the Michelin Guide, earning two new stars for the region: Vértigo (Sober) and Miguel González (Ourense). These two new stars, added to the other Galician restaurants that maintain this distinction, bring the total to 19 establishments with this prestigious award.
In the case of Vértigo, located in the Regina Viarum Winery and run by chef Rafa Centeno, the guide highlights the milestone that “makes it the first winery restaurant in Galicia to obtain this international recognition”.
Meanwhile, Miguel González regains the star it had temporarily lost when it closed to relocate from O Pereiro de Aguiar to Ourense.
Beyond the new additions, Maruja Limón, by Rafa Centeno, and Silabario, by Alberto González, both in Vigo, maintain their star; Eirado, by Iñaki Bretal, in Pontevedra; Casa Solla, by Pepe Solla, in Poio; Yayo Daporta, from Yayo Daporta, in Cambados; Nova, by Julio Sotomayor and Daniel Guzmán, Ceibe, by Xosé Magalhaes and Lydia del Olmo, in Ourense; To Tafona, by Lucía Freitas, Simpar, by Áxel Smyth and Claudia Merchán and Casa Marcelo, by Marcelo Tejedor, in Santiago; Ferpel Gastronomic, by Elio Fernández, in Ortigueira; Árbore da Veira, by Luis Veira, in A Coruña; O Pazo, by Óscar Vidal, in Padrón, and Terra de Fisterra, by Brais Pichel, in Fisterra.
Undoubtedly, these awards highlight the level of consolidation and gastronomic excellence of our land.
