Next Thursday, October 16, the conference “Efficiency and Geothermal Energy in the Tourism Sector” will be held in Santiago de Compostela, organized by the Galician Geothermal Energy Cluster Association (Acluxega) in collaboration with the Galician Tourism Cluster. The event will take place at the Illustrious Official College of Industrial Engineers of Galicia (Rúa Ramón Piñeiro, 23) and will begin at 11:30 a.m.
The event aims to promote the use of renewable energy and efficient technologies in tourism establishments, highlighting the role of geothermal energy as a key tool for the modernization and sustainability of the sector. It will also be a meeting point for tourism professionals, accommodation managers, energy technicians, and public and private entities interested in improving the efficiency of their facilities.
The opening will feature interventions by Xosé Merelles, director of Axencia Turismo de Galicia; José Manuel Lamela Rivera, spokesperson for ICOIIG Santiago; Cesáreo Pardal, president of the Galician Tourism Cluster; e Manuel López Portela, president of Acluxega.
The program will include two thematic panels: one focused on energy efficiency and the resources available for the tourism sector, and another dedicated to the presentation of success stories in Galician accommodation, such as the IMI Hotel (Ourense), the Pincheiro Apartments (A Pobra do Caramiñal) and the Gandarela Rural House and the Ferramenteiro Hostel (Portomarín).
