Termatalia returns to Ourense: European epicenter of thermal tourism

  • The International Thermal Tourism, Health and Wellness Fair will celebrate its 22nd edition with an ambitious program of activities.

On September 26 and 27, the city of Ourense, known for its thermal tradition, will once again be the scene of the International Thermal Tourism, Health and Wellness Fair, Termatalia. After passing through Uruguay last year, where it was recognized as an Event of Tourist Interest, the fair returns to its original headquarters in Galicia to continue strengthening ties between Europe and Latin America in the field of wellness tourism.

This edition promises to be one of the most complete to date. The V International Congress on Water and Health will be one of the key events, with presentations by experts who will delve into the role of thermalism in physical and mental well-being. In addition, there will be sessions focused on the quality of thermal treatments and how these practices can influence other sectors such as sports or wine tourism.

Wellness, sustainability and innovation

Among this year’s novelties, the spaces dedicated to sustainability in health tourism and new technological applications stand out. Renowned professionals such as Francisco Maraver and María Lorena Vela, from the Complutense University of Madrid, will discuss topics such as medical hydrology and the impact of thermal waters on the improvement of various pathologies. In addition, research and artificial intelligence projects will be presented to promote the development of thermal tourism.

Thermalism on the rise

The growth of thermalism as a tourist and health activity has led both public and private institutions to join this project. In this new edition of Termatalia, national and regional organizations related to health tourism will have a prominent role, demonstrating Galicia’s commitment to promoting this industry.

With the Internationality Seal awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Termatalia continues to consolidate itself as a global reference in wellness tourism, strengthening its position in both Europe and Latin America.

In the last edition in Ourense, in 2022, 140 exhibitors, 25 countries, 25 specialized TTOOs, 70 international speakers and 6,300 professional visitors participated. Registration of professional visitors is now open and can be done through the following link.
