The Cluster maintains its consulting service active to obtain or maintain the Q for Quality and the S for Tourism Sustainability

Within the framework of the collaboration agreements formalized by the Galician Tourism Agency-Xunta de Galicia, the Galician Tourism Cluster makes available to tourism companies a free consulting service for obtaining or maintaining the Q for Quality and the S for Sustainability. The objective is to simplify the process for interested tourism entities.

 

Q for Quality and S for Sustainability

 

The Q guarantee of Tourist Quality is a Spanish brand, recognized worldwide, aimed at the voluntary certification of the quality of tourist services. This certifies the quality of the management, services and infrastructure of tourism organizations. The mark is obtained when the tourism organization demonstrates compliance with the technical requirements stated in its corresponding standard. The organization must implement a management system oriented toward customer service and continuous improvement.

 

The S mark for Tourism Sustainability is a recognition of good sustainable practices, launched by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE) to help establishments, companies and destinations in Spain in the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals of the Millennium. This mark is obtained when the tourism organization complies, at least, with the Technical Specification for Compliance with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in tourism organizations, or with the UNE-ESO Standard 21401:2019 Sustainability Management System for accommodations.

 

Consulting service

 

For the Q for Quality, consulting and technical assistance services are provided for the management and processing of the subsidy in the certification/maintenance processes of the distinctive during the year 2023. The Cluster conducted a survey in which the companies/entities that received the service assessed its quality, approving it with a good grade: the Most of the respondents rate it with an average response that is around 8.43 (on a scale of 1 to 10).

 

For the S for Sustainability, it is necessary to implement the requirements of at least one of the documents against which the Tourism Sustainability mark is obtained. In addition to this, it is also necessary to agree with one of the approved companies on the external audit; demonstrate compliance with technical requirements; put into operation and highlight the improvement opportunities detected; obtain the certificate and value it, within and had been of the organization; and pass an external audit annually.
