With the aim of ensuring investment and benefits in the implementation of energy efficiency in companies that often require a high initial investment, the consortium of ESI Europe has launched GoSafe with ESI, an energy efficiency project that is a unique and comprehensive solution that guarantees energy savings, helping entrepreneurs to use energy more efficiently with guaranteed savings.
GoSafe with ESI has been designed by the ESI Europe project and is based on the ESI model, which has been successfully implemented in Colombia and Mexico, and is being developed and planned in ten other countries in Latin America and Asia. The ESI Europe project is funded by the European Union’s research and innovation programme Horizon 2020, and was launched in February 2018, by the Basel Agency for Sustainable Energy (BASE) in Switzerland, the Italian Federation for Energy Efficiency (FIRE), the Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSD) in Portugal, and the EnergyLab Technology Centre in Spain.
GoSafe with ESI makes the elements of the ESI model available to market players in Italy, Portugal and Spain. It consists of a set of mechanisms that reduce the risk associated with energy efficiency investments, including a standardized contract with a clause that guarantees energy efficiency, with independent technical validation and insurance that covers energy savings. Energy efficiency projects with GoSafe with ESI are given access to financing through green credit lines under competitive conditions.
Guarantee for suppliers and customers
Go Safe with ESI has been developed to build confidence and credibility in energy efficiency investments. It is suitable for technology providers interested in offering an integrated solution for energy efficiency projects, and for energy efficiency clients looking to improve their technologies and energy use, benefiting from guaranteed savings.
ESI Europe’s consortium partners are ready to provide technical assistance and support to energy efficiency pilots adopting GoSafe with ESI in Italy, Portugal and Spain. Furthermore, an online platform is being developed, where the supplier, the company and the validator can follow the progress of the project, from contract activation to energy savings monitoring.
