Until next September 10 is open the deadline to participate in this year’s call for applications for internships at the tourist offices of Galicia in Europe, America and China. The call, for graduates in the last four years, will take place over a period of ten months in relevant issuing markets for Galicia in Europe (London, Paris, Berlin, Brussels and Milan), America (São Paulo and Los Angeles) and China (Canton).
The call delves into two of the objectives set out in the Galicia 2020 Tourism Strategy: the search for excellence in the service provided to travellers through quality training for professionals and the internationalisation of the destination.
These are eight scholarships for practical training at tourist offices abroad aimed at people who have graduated in the last four years and who can prove their knowledge of the official language of the country. Those interested have until 10 September to submit their applications, preferably by electronic means, and can consult the details of the call for applications in the Official Gazette of Galicia.
The eight exchanges, with a budget of more than 200,000 euros from the Xunta de Galicia, provide for a training stay of up to ten months in the relevant markets of Galicia. Specifically, those selected will be doing internships at tourist offices in Europe (London, Paris, Berlin, Brussels and Milan), America (São Paulo and Los Angeles) and China (Canton).
The objective is to promote the professional development of the scholarship holders by means of internships subject to the training plan that will be given to them at the beginning of the period.
In addition to proving knowledge of the Galician language, they must also certify the official language of the country in London, Paris, Berlin, Los Angeles, Milan and São Paulo. In the case of Brussels, French or English, while for the Canton stock exchange, Chinese or English must be accredited. Applicants will be assessed on the basis of their CV and the results of a tourism knowledge test, a case study, language test and personal interview.
