  • The session addressed how to integrate universal and cognitive accessibility in tourism businesses.

A group of 61 companies participated in the first of two sessions of the online training “Universal Accessibility for Sustainable Tourism,” organized by the “Galicia Destino Sostible” Product Club, with the support of the Cluster and the Galician Tourism Agency. The initiative, which will continue on October 21, aims to train professionals in the Galician tourism sector in creating more accessible and inclusive environments and services.

During the two-hour session, participants were able to delve deeper into the relationship between accessibility and sustainability, learning about best practices and practical tools to improve care and communication with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, as well as with families and other groups with special needs.

  • Specialized training in cognitive accessibility

The activity is taught by the ErrazTEA team, a service specializing in cognitive accessibility and inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities and those on the autism spectrum. Through practical examples and participatory activities, concepts such as easy reading, the use of pictograms, and the design of spaces and services that are more understandable for everyone are explained.

The training helps Galician companies differentiate themselves through their commitment to inclusion, improving the customer experience and strengthening their commitment to sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The second session will be held on October 21, completing the four-hour duration of this training program.
