The Tourism Cluster participates in the ‘Direct Conferences to support the marketing of Spanish tourism in Mexico and Central America’

  • The Spanish Tourism Institute (Turespaña) organizes professional meetings in the Riviera Maya with agencies and tour operators from seven countries: Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, El Salvador and Guatemala.

These Conferences, framed in the Turespaña Strategic Marketing Plan 2021-2024, aim to position Spain as a quality, safe and sustainable tourist destination in the markets of this geographical area.

The Mexican market, with a population of 126 million inhabitants, has 26.5 million people with the economic capacity to make at least one international trip a year. The six Central American countries have an international tourism potential of 27.5%, which translates into 13.5 million potential travelers to Europe.

Regarding the spending profile, Mexican and Central American travelers have socio-economic characteristics much higher than the average of international tourists in our country, with an average of 2,000 euros per person.

During the sessions, training events will be held to learn about the issuing markets and the Spanish offer. Meetings between supply and demand will also be included, with 2,400 meetings planned.

Representing the Galician market, the Tourism Cluster and several operators from our community participate: Tee Travel, Interrias, Pilgrim, Pambre Tours and Proguías.
