The call for energy improvements is aimed at self-employed and SMEs and endowed with a budget of 2 million euros.

The Energy Institute of Galicia (Inega) has just launched a new call for the SME Energy Voucher, a line of aid to undertake energy improvement projects by self-employed and SMEs that is endowed with a total budget of 2 million euros, as can be seen in the bases made public through the Official Journal of Galicia.

The call is aimed at various sectors, including trade, artistic and recreational activities and, of course, accommodation and hospitality. Thus, the bases refer to the National Classification of Economic Activities 2009 to include among the beneficiaries hotels, campsites, tourist accommodation and other tourist establishments, as well as businesses dedicated to food and beverage services.

Six different areas of actions are foreseen to be subsidised through the same number of vouchers. The envelope voucherfocuses on solar control elements such as awnings. The lighting voucher provides for the renovation of lights, signs and shop windows. The electrical installations voucher focuses on improving efficiency. The equipment voucher will allow for the renovation of appliances such as coffee machines, dishwashers, washing machines, irons, refrigerators and the like. The air conditioning voucher is aimed at improving air conditioning, ventilation and domestic hot water installations, and the building automation voucher will enable action to be taken on home automation or building automation systems that allow for greater efficiency in energy expenditure.

The minimum eligible investment is 1,000 euros and the maximum aid per application is 6,000 euros. The deadline for submitting applications is 14 July this year and the deadline for implementing approved projects is 30 September.
