The Galicia Tourism Cluster’s business space at FITUR hosted nearly 500 meetings with the participation of around 1,400 professionals. This space, set up by the Galician Regional Government (Xunta) and the Tourism Agency at the Galicia stand and managed by the Cluster, once again increased the number of available tables to accommodate the intense activity of the Galician tourism sector at this trade fair.
This year’s event was notable for the increased activity of inbound travel agencies, both large and small, and a greater presence of agencies related to the Camino de Santiago, which exceeded one hundred meetings. Other tourism subsectors with significant activity included hotels and wine tourism, the latter gaining prominence this year.
There was also intense activity from city councils, provincial councils, and intermunicipal associations. Professionals from the municipalities of A Coruña, Santiago, Ferrol, Padrón, Sanxenxo, Catoira, Poio, Ribadumia, A Cañiza, Baiona, A Guardia, and Ribadeo visited the Cluster’s business area. Also noteworthy was the activity of various provincial councils and intermunicipal associations, such as A Mariña and Costa da Morte, and entities like the Ribeira Sacra Consortium, Expourense, Semana Verde, and the Fisterra-Muxía Association.
Internationally, the business fair welcomed representatives from countries such as Mexico, Portugal, Colombia, China, and Bulgaria, all interested in learning about and establishing contacts related to Galicia as a destination.
Visitors interested in Galicia are increasingly seeking unique experiences, opting for specialized tourism with smaller groups and personalized service, in line with a more sustainable tourism model.
The activity of these past few days confirms that the Galician tourism sector has a loyal customer base and demonstrates consolidated stability, the result of continuous work carried out in recent years.
