There are now 325 establishments that can boast the Q for Quality certification awarded by the Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality (ICTE) after adding another 31 distinctions last year. Finca Montesqueiro, the first event-oriented establishment to achieve this distinction, hosted an event in which other authorities also took part as the director of Galicia Tourism, Nava Castro; the vice president of the Provincial Council of A Coruña and responsible for the area of Tourism of that institution, Xosé Regueira, and the vice president of the Provincial Council of Ourense and president of the Ourense Institute of Economic Development (Inorde), Rosendo Fernández.

During this meeting, a special mention was awarded to the Travesía Náutica Xacobea for being the only company distinguished as a tourist route. Soutomaior Castle was also recognised as a museum. The awarding of the new distinctions has also ratified Galicia’s leadership within the communities of Green Spain, as it is the territory with the most Q for Quality in 13 categories and is also the only community with this certification in areas such as tourist hostels, unique public spaces, sustainable accommodation and tourist routes.
