Wine tourism in Galicia, the umbrella brand that groups the five Galicia wine routes: Monterrei, Rías Baixas, Ribeira Sacra, Ribeiro and Valdeorras, launches for the first time a road show that will bring the offer of Galician wine tourism to the seven great cities in an initiative that will combine informative and promotional activities on the Galician wine industry with commented tastings and live music around a great trailer that will visit Santiago, Ferrol, A Coruña, Pontevedra, Vigo, Ourense and Lugo.
Promoted by Enotourism in Galicia and in collaboration with Turismo de Galicia, the Tourism Cluster of Galicia and the Galician wine routes themselves, the road show was presented this morning at its first stop in Santiago at an event in the Plaza Obradoiro that counted with the participation of the director general of Tourism, Nava Castro; the delegate in Compostela of the Tourism Cluster of Galicia, Carlos Tardáguila; the mayor of Santiago, Martiño Noriega; and representatives of the Galician wine routes.
José Manuel Rodríguez González, president of the Ribeira Sacra Wine Route, spoke on behalf of the five routes joined under the umbrella brand Enoturismo in Galicia to thank Tourism of Galicia and the Cluster of Tourism of Galicia its commitment to the Galician wine industry. Rodríguez González explained that “we wish that all the people who come during the next three weeks to this Enotruck can know firsthand the varied and rich enotouristic offer that we offer and encourage to enjoy a whole world of new sensations.”
For his part, Carlos Tardáguila, congratulated the routes for this joint initiative that continues in the line of collaboration between partners promoted by the Tourism Cluster of Galicia. “From the Cluster we believe that initiatives of this type allow us to generate synergies among partners, improve our knowledge of Galician tourism and work together to improve the positioning and marketing of our tourism products, and wine tourism has a great value for us its power of deseasonalisation, “he said.
The Enotruck of Enoturismo Galicia has begun today in the square of the Obradoiro (Santiago) its trip by the seven Galician cities that will take it to the place of Arms of Ferrol (Friday 8 of September); Avenue of the Marina / Obelisco of A Coruña (Saturday 9 of September); square of Ferreiría of Pontevedra (Friday 15 of September); Plazuela de Urzáiz and Samil beach in Vigo (Saturday, September 16); Rúa do Paseo de Ourense (Friday the 22nd of September), and the Spanish square of Lugo (Saturday, September 23rd).
All events will take place between 11:00 and 22:00 hours, during which time the Ecotruck will be open to the public offering information on the routes of the wine of Galicia. All those who come can participate in the draw of seven lots of five wines, one wine per each route and one lot per location.
In the afternoons there will be two free tastings directed by sommelier Mercedes González. In them they will taste elaborations coming from member wineries of the five routes of the wine of Galicia. These will be mixed with mussels, needles and sardines provided by Anfaco, cheese from the Protected Designation of Origin Arzúa-Ulloa and bread from the IGP Pan de Cea. To participate in these tastings it is only necessary to register in advance, following the indications of Enoturismo Galicia through its Fan Page on Facebook or Ecntruck itself.
Also during the afternoon will be a musical performance by the group Soul & Roll, a Ourense duo founded in 2012 by Miguel Araújo and Tamara Pérez. His repertoire is full of great successes of the 80’s, 90’s and the first decade of this century.
