The Galicia Destino Familiar label bets on marketing in its third year of life

Promoted by the Tourism Cluster in collaboration with several of its partners, the initiative takes a step forward with the publication of a catalogue

Aware of the growing importance of family tourism, the Cluster of Tourism of Galicia continues to promote the Galicia Family Destination label, its commitment to a segment that, according to data from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, represents almost one out of every five euros invoiced by the Spanish tourism sector. Born in 2016 in the heart of the Ideas Competition of the Galician Tourism Cluster, this project is promoted by the Consortium of Tourist Businessmen of Sanxenxo (CETS), the Association Rede Galega de Albergues Turísticos (AGALBER), Viajes Fisterra S.L.U. and the Hotel Bahía de Vigo S.A. Today, 39 Galician companies of different types are accredited.

After the initial effort in attracting and promoting the brand, Galicia Destino Familiar has decided to focus on a differentiated tourist product with a loyalty capacity. For this reason, and in order to complement the offers that each member publishes on the website and app of Galicia Family Destination, a catalogue has been created and is already being distributed to retail agencies throughout the country.

For its elaboration the main premise was to package and give form to the combined product and services that are already offered in Galicia Family Destination, in order to contribute to position Galicia as a territory with an extensive and varied offer for families. Each member of Galicia Destino Familiar has its own space in the catalogue, with descriptive and photographic information.

This catalogue has already been present in the proximity workshops organized by the Cluster of Tourism of Galicia in Oviedo and Valladolid, last May 30th and 31st, where Galicia Family Destination had its own space. In addition, the label continues to make progress in its online promotion efforts and in the coming weeks a new version of the website and app of Galicia Family Destination will be released, with new features that aim to facilitate the planning of the visitor’s stay in Galicia.

Children, the keys to choosing a destination
The catalogue represents a new step forward to position Galicia as a reference destination in family tourism through the design of activities, routes or experiences that highlight the main attributes of our community and that take into account all the family typologies that have emerged with the latest socio-demographic changes, giving special prominence to children, who play a key role in choosing a destination.

A growing seal of quality
It should be remembered that companies interested in joining Galicia Family Destination must meet certain requirements at the level of the most demanding families, ensuring that they have the necessary equipment for the care of children, a gastronomic offer adapted and economical, access to children’s areas or services indicated for them. In return, the associated entities obtain great benefits in terms of advice, promotion and diffusion, showing a seal of quality that makes them an establishment or activity to choose.
