A hundred tourism companies interested in boosting the competitiveness of their businesses through active tourism  meeting in the City of Culture, in Santiago de Compostela, at the Galicia Active Destination Workshop Galicia, a professional meeting promoted by the Tourism Cluster of Galicia through its brand Galicia Active Destination with the aim of providing information and generate synergies between companies. A brand that, as the secretary of the Cluster recalled at the opening of the meeting, “was born with the aim of creating a reference brand in this segment and moving forward in the creation of a structured and quality offer around active Galician tourism” because, as he stressed “Galicia has enormous potential for the development of this type of tourism (…) but we lack information, we lack training and a network of synergies that contribute to structuring this offer, positioning Galicia as a reference destination in active tourism”, he explained.

At the Professional Meeting held today, more than 1,600 quick work meetings were held by a wide range of companies, most of them linked to active tourism but also others from the sector such as travel agencies, restaurants, hotels, tourist guides…..The objective of this activity is to create satisfactory relations between agents of the territory to promote the growth and competitiveness of the business network related to Active Tourism in Galicia. To this end, during the day, the organisation of working groups has been promoted to create innovative tourism products related to active tourism in Galicia. In this way, Galicia Destino Activo will select those that are in line with its promotional-marketing activities for 2018.

Once the tourist products have been created, the Galicia Destino Activo brand will provide them with graphic material, text, photography and video that will be uploaded to the website and the App for distribution to external operators. In addition, it will encourage participating companies to market these collaborative offers themselves with the aim of strengthening the synergies created between operators in the territory and thus promote Galicia as an Active Tourism Destination.
