After completion of the qualifying events held in the communities of Madrid, La Rioja, Navarra, Basque Country and Asturias, Galicia hosted the final of the Senior Tour Golf Tourism Galicia, held this week at the Golf Baneario Mondariz established itself as an event of national reference

The twenty ranked players of these previous phases played a two-day competition, 10 and 11 October in a tournament that, according to its organizers, is to consolidate this competition as an event of national reference in the program of competitions segment players senior in Spain. In addition, in parallel, the companions of the competitors also held a parallel competition. Altogether 54 participated in the event players at the end of competitions, raffles enjoyed tasting Galician gifts and products.

At the end of the tournament champions VI Senior Golf Tour Galicia Tourism proclaimed in Scratch golfer Francisco Moreno, from Navarra; in Handicap, Juan Carlos Tinturé, Asturias; in Mastersénior Handicap (over 70 years), Francisco Cachafeiro of Madrid; and Damas, Arrate Garate of the Basque Country. The awards ceremony was chaired by Carmen Pita Urgoiti, Director of Promotion Tourism Galicia, accompanied by Javier de Francisco, a partner of the winery Pazo de Vieite, and Ignacio de la Cuesta, manager of the Golf Balneario de Mondariz

Among the objectives that meets the celebration of this event is that of placing the Galician tourism in the imaginary golfer, presenting Galicia as ideal for this sport that allows you to enjoy also the enormous wealth destination food and wine, sports and Hydrotherapy with which our territory. In addition, this initiative also facilitates the presentation of the offer of camps and tourist services through a strategically differentiated product.
