The figures obtained from occupancy data in Sanxenxo in July 2019 show similar results to those of 2018, hovering around 75%. A ratio that is maintained despite having been a month with adverse weather, to which joins a variant occupation of large influx at weekends and smaller weekdays. The general sensation of the associates that transmit from the consortium that “with a better weather it would have been a perfect month”.

As far as consumption data is concerned, a line of growth is maintained. Entrepreneurs associated with CETS in the restaurant, leisure and complementary offer sectors were surveyed to assess their clients’ consumption on a scale of 1 to 5, obtaining a result of 3.89 compared to 3.11 last year.

In the statement, the consortium foresees a summer season “that is not presented with great joys meteorologically speaking”, and that the expected will be to consolidate the tourist data of previous years.

Sanxenxo already has more than 15,000 regulated accommodation places in the hotel and extra hotel sector, as well as more places in holiday homes and second homes. Francisco Gonzalez Lopez, president of CETS, says that they must continue working “in the promotion at national and international level, although the race is not, nor should be for the tourist record, to grow each year more in occupancy, the bet must be for stability with respect to the tourist results of recent years and advocate the increase in average spending and profitability.

Finally, they are committed to continue working on the promotion of the Sanxenxo tourism brand from the point of view of public-private collaboration and to continue promoting it internationally, pursuing deseasonalisation.
